How to make Original Homemade Sloppy Joe Recipe
Ingredients
2 tbsp oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1 medium yellow onion, diced
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp chili powder
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup ketchup
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
¼ cup water
¼ tsp hot pepper sauce
4 hamburger or 8 slider buns
Instructions
Saute the onion in a skillet with heated oil until just turning soft
Add garlic and the chili powder and stir well
Add in the ground beef and cook until it is no longer pink
Add in the pepper, brown sugar, water, ketchup and tomato sauce
Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes
Taste and add more flavor or hot pepper sauce if wanted
Using an ice cream scoop, place a scoop on each of the bun bottoms
Top with a little shredded cheese if wanted
